Liver Diseases Rising in Pakistan – Doctors Issue Serious Warning

Health experts in Pakistan are raising serious concerns as liver diseases continue to increase across the country. On World Liver Day, the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) highlighted that millions of people are currently living with liver-related illnesses, many without even knowing it.

According to officials, around 13 to 15 million Pakistanis are affected by Hepatitis B and C, with Hepatitis C alone accounting for nearly 10 million cases. What’s more worrying is that only a small percentage of people are aware of their condition, which means the disease often goes untreated until it becomes severe.

Doctors say unhealthy lifestyles, poor diet, and lack of awareness are making the situation worse. They are urging people to adopt healthier habits, avoid unsafe medical practices, and go for regular checkups, as early detection can prevent serious complications like liver failure and cancer.
