Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a significant cut in the diesel price in Pakistan, bringing much-needed relief for transporters and the general public. The price has been reduced by Rs. 32.12 per litre, lowering it from Rs. 385.54 to Rs. 353.43 per litre. This is one of the biggest reductions in recent weeks.
The decision comes as global oil prices show signs of stability, allowing the government to pass on the benefit to consumers. Officials say the aim is to reduce pressure on daily expenses, especially for sectors heavily dependent on diesel like transport and goods delivery.
Authorities have confirmed that the new prices will be implemented immediately so people can start feeling the relief without delay. The government has also indicated that further adjustments may be made if international oil prices continue to decline.
